Eco-Friendly Packaging
This week, I watched a TED talk called "A radical plan to end plastic waste".
The main idea of this TED talk is that plastic is very harmful to the earth and can be dealth with differently.
(Bennet, Haley, Turner Kristy)
One idea that I found interesting was if big companies or companies in general decided to change the ways they package things, it could make a big difference. I thought this was interesting because companies can have such a big impact on the earth and how they transport things.
This made me wonder how companies could start using and benefiting from switching to eco-friendly packaging options. On the website "Supply Chain Game Changer" I found more information about how companies can switch to eco-friendly packaging. There are many benefits to switching to sustainable packaging that companies could use.
(Levins, Cory)
The BXP Magazine states "The majority of American consumers care about eco-friendly packaging-and they are willing to pay more for it, according to a new reserach report by Exal Corporations, in partnership with Boston Consulting." I think as a company it would be smart to change to eco-friendly packaging especially if consumers would pay more for it. Sustainable packaging helps the environment and can help companies so if companies were to switch it would be a beneficial factor in helping the environment

Jess, I really enjoyed your post. The pictures you selected really helped to make your point. You mentioned a study where consumers were willing to absorb the extra cost of eco friendly packaging. Have you done any research on exactly what thoses costs may look like?
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you explored the ways companies can use alternatives to plastic. Great post!

ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad you liked it.
DeleteJessie, a good start to your post, though it would have been nice to see more detail about the reasons companies aren't yet making the shift to eco-friendly packaging or which companies are already doing this. Your post is a bit short.
